Established in 1999, LeGallais has been a trusted part of the Aurora community for more than 25 years. We are a full-service general practice providing compassionate, high-quality care to cats, dogs, and pocket pets. Our hospital combines a collaborative team culture with modern facilities, advanced technology, and a strong commitment to professional development.

About the Hospital

LeGallais is home to a cohesive team of five DVMs and experienced support staff who value collaboration, adaptability, and continuous learning. Our modern, immaculate, fully paperless hospital features:

  • Five spacious exam rooms
  • A fully equipped surgical suite
  • Dedicated dental suite
  • Ultrasound and advanced diagnostic capabilities
  • IDEXX laboratory systems
  • CoVet AI technology to streamline medical documentation
  • A diverse caseload with opportunities to pursue clinical interests
  • Strong capabilities in soft-tissue surgery and dentistry

The Opportunity

As the Managing DVM, you will serve as a key medical leader within the hospital, working closely with the Hospital Manager and broader NVA leadership to support excellent patient care, develop the veterinary team, and foster a positive and collaborative hospital culture.

This is an opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys leading by example and wants to have a meaningful influence on both medicine and people. You will remain clinically engaged while helping guide medical standards, support your fellow DVMs, and contribute to the continued growth and success of LeGallais.

Medical Leadership

  • Provide medical leadership and uphold a high standard of veterinary medicine and patient care.
  • Collaborate with the DVM team to establish and maintain consistent Standards of Care.
  • Support appropriate treatment planning, medical documentation, client communication, and patient follow-up.
  • Encourage a progressive and innovative approach to veterinary medicine.
  • Monitor medical quality and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support veterinarians in managing medically complex cases and navigating clinical challenges.
  • Address medically related client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound clinical judgment.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional patient and client care.

DVM Leadership & Development

  • Build strong relationships with the veterinary team through regular communication, coaching, and support.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to associate veterinarians based on their individual interests and development goals.
  • Support ongoing clinical education and encourage DVMs to pursue areas of professional interest.
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of new veterinary team members.
  • Support performance development through regular check-ins, feedback, and coaching.
  • Foster an environment where veterinarians feel comfortable collaborating, asking questions, and sharing knowledge.

Team Leadership

  • Serve as an onsite role model and demonstrate positive, collaborative, and servant-minded leadership.
  • Partner closely with the Hospital Manager to cultivate a supportive, respectful, and engaging workplace.
  • Encourage collaboration between veterinarians and the support team.
  • Recognize team members' strengths and help them grow and succeed in their roles.
  • Promote high morale, open communication, accountability, and teamwork throughout the hospital.

Hospital Operations & Business Partnership

  • Partner with the Hospital Manager to support the hospital's overall operational and financial performance.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve hospital efficiency, patient flow, scheduling, and the client experience.
  • Participate in reviewing hospital performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Manager and NVA leadership on budgeting, capital needs, and hospital initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of hospital policies, procedures, and medical protocols.
  • Contribute to sustainable hospital growth while maintaining a strong focus on quality medicine and patient care.

We offer a four-day work week with just one Saturday per month and no on-call requirements, along with a comprehensive total rewards package.
