Veterinary Assistant

Love animals? Thrive in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a Veterinary Technical Assistant (TA) to join our dynamic team at City Centre Animal Hospital! This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is hands-on, team-oriented, and eager to grow in the veterinary field while making a real impact on patient care and client experience.

We are open to both part-time and full-time positions, and candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.

-Restrain animals safely and humanely during examinations and treatments.

- Prepare and maintain examination rooms treatment area & surgical suite, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.

- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the system

- Provide compassionate care to animals and excellent service to pet owners.

- Assist in scheduling appointments and maintain the appointment calendar

- Assist in answering phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from clients

- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks as needed

-Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is an asset

- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and common pet medications is beneficial

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Schedule Requirements:

Must be available for a variety of shifts throughout the week that can include evenings and weekends. Schedules typically move on a monthly rotation but can be adjusted as needed.
