Annual Salary: $85,000

The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing product/service categories to drive sales and profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams such as Vendors/Business Partners, Marketing, Sales, Finance and US teams.

This position is a 13-month term employment contract.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·Improving growth and profitability

oGenerate and analyze reports to determine savings and opportunities for the various categories.

oAnalyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends (Pricing)

oSupport in the development of long-term sustainable strategies for product categories

oAssist with the implementation and execution of strategic pricing and internal procurement processes within Canada

oSupport with the RFQ process, negotiations and provide recommendations

·Partnering for success

oFoster trusting relationships with vendors to achieve growth and profitability

oWork cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and Vendors to support with Rebates tracking and other savings opportunities

oRespond to all internal inquiries and assist business stakeholders needs in gathering their requirements (Retriever system)

oWork cross functionally with Finance to report and track COGS

·Seeking continuous improvement:

oSupporting on the negotiation and execution of renewals and new Contractual Agreements

oWork with US and other internal stakeholders to support with automation and process efficiencies

oSupport with Oracle

oKeeping abreast of industry and market trends and best practices

What You’ll Bring to NVA Canada:

·3 to 5 years of experience in Category Management/Procurement

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with business partners (vendors) and internal departments

·Proficient with MS Office and strong Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot Tables/Formulas)

·Demonstrated analytical skills

·Bachelor of Commerce Degree

·SCMP designation is an asset

·Oracle and Quickbase experience not a must but will be ideal

·Power Bi and SQL knowledge
