Veterinary Receptionist

Bracebridge Animal Hospital is a small, close-knit veterinary team dedicated to providing high-quality medical care with compassion and professionalism. Our team consists of 3 Doctors, 3 RVTs, 3 Veterinary Assistants, and 2 Receptionists, all working together in a facility in the heart of Bracebridge.

Our clinic operates year-round:

• Monday & Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Every other Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-time (Maternity Leave Coverage)
• Hours: 32–40 hours per week
• Wage: $21.00–$23.00 per hour (based on experience)

We are currently hiring for a Veterinary Receptionist. This position is a fixed-term contract for the purpose of providing coverage during a maternity leave with the opportunity to become full-time continued employment beyond the maternity leave period. 

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients and answer phones in a friendly, professional manner
• Respond to emails and client inquiries promptly
• Assist DVMs and RVTs during appointments and treatments as needed
• Perform light cleaning and maintain clinic cleanliness
• Support animal husbandry and patient care when required
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain an organized workspace
• Stock supplies and monitor inventory
• Process payments and complete administrative tasks
• Fill prescriptions under supervision
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Front desk or customer service experience is beneficial
• Previous experience working with companion animals is an asset
• Experience in a veterinary clinic setting is preferred

Requirements

• Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to the Bracebridge area
• Previous experience preferred:
  • Front desk or reception (1 year)
  • Customer service (1 year)
  • Veterinary clinic experience (1 year)
